Should These Two Be Rewarded Equally?

Should these two be rewarded equally for their hard work?
Jamie: She is a young woman who works for a public relations company and she makes very good money at her job and the rewards she has is owning a condo overlooking the ocean on the coast of California, she owns a 2007 Toyota 4Runner Limited V8, she o lots of nice clothes to wear, gets to go on nice vacations, goes to plenty of rock concerts and owns lots of stereo/furniture equipment.
Nick: He is a young man who works at a department store called Shopko and the only rewards he gets is working little hours and, a roof over his head at his parents’s duplex and a cheap bicycle to get to and from work, plus his boss is an egotistical jerk who treats Nick like crap and is refusing to give him the hours he deserves and Nick only makes $8.15 an hour, plus Nick’s boss fired an elderly woman cause she couldn’t perform the duties that he wanted her to, plus Nick hates his job and his parents don’t want Nick to quit his job.

Nick needs to take responsibility for his life – no one owes him a living – Jamie figured that out – I’m sure that she’s got at least 4 years of college under her belt, and is reaping the rewards of all of her effort.
    Jobs pay when their is
    1) limited # of people with that skillset
    2) Limited # of people who want to do that job
Jamie fits under category 1, Nick has a limited skillset and lots of people who would willing take his job, thus his options at Shopko are limited.

There is no such thing as equality in the workplace. Right or wrong, many people get rewards who don’t deserve them. Others work their fingers to the bone and don’t get rewarded as they deserve.
Part of this has to do with luck, or circumstances, or connections….those folks who started working with Bill Gates many years ago had no idea that they would be multimillionaires someday. However, the other part of it has to do with ability and experience. If Nick hates his job, Nick needs to find a new job. If his acquaintance from school can’t help him out, then he needs to move on and find an employer who can. Although it is always nice to do favors for others when possible, Jamie has no obligation to help Nick out.
If Nick is old enough to hold down a job, he is old enough to tell his parents that while he appreciates their support, he needs to make the career decisions that are best for him. He is also old enough to look at job postings online and network with friends and acquaintances besides Jamie who might be helpful in his job search.

Nick probably should have gone to college. So no, sucks for him.

First of all – what you describe in a business sense are not rewards – they are defined lifestyle expenditures – rewards are the pay and benefit each person receives for their work – as you are compairng to different occupations – and excluding key informations such as education and skills – so the answer is no – they should not be compared as there is no relationship between the jobs – it may not equitable that Nick does not have the same lifestyle – but there are many things he can do even with medical problems

Unfortunately it’s impossible that Nick will be rewarded the same as Jamie and I feel awfully bad for the rut that Nick is stuck in, look at it this way, if both Nick and Jamie has God and Jesus in their hearts and that they’re living their lives for God and Jesus they’ll BOTH get rewarded equally for their hard work and good deeds and those are the greatest rewards anybody can ever have.
I really do wish Nick all of the luck in the world and I hope one day his new job will treat Nick with all of the respect that he deserves, I’ve been down the same road as Nick before and believe me it was not an easy road for me and I feel like a stronger person for going through the same situation as Nick went through.

Jamie obviously got where she is by working for it (or she knew somebody) you can’t be angry with everyon who does better than you. start looking for a new job!
